Purpose Statements:
The Primary purpose of this job function is:
• Correct documentation of business transactions in the financial records.
• Production of accurate and timely internal and external financial reports and
• Provision of financial analysis support for the entire business.
Key Deliverables:
Transaction management: this includes;
General Accounting which involves;
Payments and Accounts Payable,
Periodic closing of the books
Ensuring accuracy of Financial Accounting and Reporting.
Bank Accounting and reconciliations,
Managing Inter-Company charges and reconciliations,
Billing and Accounts receivables,
Upstream Accounting: Natural Gas Liquids Accounting handles accounting for inventory and movements, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, billing and accounts receivable, price verification and invoice payment, exchange accounting.
Business Support: this involves;
Maintaining Fixed Assets records, balances and dispositions,
Internal reporting
Provision of advice and interpretation on various accounting, issues to ensure appropriate compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Nigerian GAAP and the Sahara Group policies.
Capital investment and funding.
Providing guidance on technical accounting matters inherent in contracts and other arrangements, such as financial instruments, purchase obligations and finance/operating leases in order to ensure appropriate accounting treatment is applied.
System support for the current accounting application and ownership of planned ERP implementation.
Provide training to Accounting and Finance staff required.
Relationship with Group Finance on technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Strategy and Portfolio matters.
Participate in accounting discussions on complex investment/financing and other transactions.
Business Risk: This includes;
Management of relationship with External Auditors and effective coordination of the entire audit process,
Execution of SOX Controls.
Coordinate all other audits and statutory reviews by relevant stakeholders such as, NNPC, NEITI, FIRS, State Tax authorities, ITF, etc
Periodic review and evaluation of Company’s internal controls, processes and policies to ensure that they are adequate and effective.
Working with other departments to ensure that existing processes, or proposed changes, are well controlled, operating efficiently and effectively, and identifying improvement opportunities.
Plan and conduct operational audits of various field and administrative operations, functions, and processes.
Perform special projects and fraud investigations.
Identify improvement opportunities as a result of the assigned work and monitor the progress.
Taxation and Tax Administration: This includes the following;
Management of all tax regulatory relationships
Resolution of tax controversies promptly and mitigating the associated financial and reputational risks. 
Research and development of suitable tax plans and strategy
Management of all agreed tax plans to achieve desired results
Processing of all taxes promptly and correctly

  • Applicant should possess BA, BSc, MD, MBBS, BMChB, RN, MPH or equivalent degree (HND), a minimum of 3 years' experience working with health facilities, experience working with HIV/AIDS patient population and other health fields. S/he should have knowledge and skills usually acquired through education/training in health outcomes and familiarity with the Nigerian health system.   • Assist in the process for identifying the key performance questions and parameters for monitoring project performance and comparing it to targets. Design the format for such performance reports.
  • Review monitoring reports; analyze them for impact evaluation and identify the causes of potential barriers in project implementation.
  • Participate in the implementation of the QA/QC evaluations plan, regularly revising and updating performance questions, indicators, methods, formats and analytical processes.
  • Develop protocols for program evaluations and other interventions
  • Review and assess activities, or processes that the program undertakes with/to the client in order to meet the client's needs - program's effectiveness.
  • Conduct formative evaluation, summative evaluation, process evaluation, outcome evaluation, cost-effectiveness evaluation, and cost-benefit evaluation of IHVN programs as designated.
  • Evaluate and examine outcomes/impacts/benefits/changes in patient care as a result of program efforts in both the short-term, intermediate term, and long-term.
  • Coordinate evaluations of interventions for programmatic improvement and data quality improvement
  • Provide direct technical assistance and mentoring to health facilities for continuous quality improvement and models for change.
  • Assist in developing continuous quality improvement teams and implementing Quality Improvement (QI) activities at the site level.
  • Support site QI teams to understand, interpret and utilize ACTIONQual reports and program data for quality improvement purposes
  • Provide technical assistance to site QI teams for the design, implementation, evaluation and reporting of quality improvement initiatives/ small tests of change
  • Review the quality of existing social and economic data in the project area, the methods of collecting it and the degree to which it will provide good baseline statistics for impact evaluation.
  • Work with program staff and partner site staff to collect indicators, develop quality of care activities over time, collect monthly reports and provide feedback and recommendations to the Department Heads, Program Area Leads, Senior Technical Advisors, and the Director Office Clinical and Community Programs.
  • Collate site QI teams' quarterly work plans, quarterly reports of initiatives implemented and monthly meeting reports.
Communication: 
  • Prepare reports on findings from program evaluations, DQAs and QI initiatives, as required, working closely with technical staff and implementing partners
  • Identify lessons learned and implications for the project's next steps. Participate in these events when possible.
  • Guide the regular sharing of outputs/findings with project staff, implementing partners and primary stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication between those carrying out field implementation and decision-makers on the number and quality of activities undertaken for each project component.

UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services of an experienced Nutrition Specialist who will be responsible for the formulation, design, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition project(s) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project management, delivery and accomplishment of project goals and objectives. In Bauchi and Kaduna field Offices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
-Master in Public Health and university degree in Medicine or Nursing/ Midwifery or related technical field
-Five years progressively responsible experience in designing, implementing and evaluating of health projects. Experience with Life Saving Skills training and practice and advantage nigerianbestforum.com.
-Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN working language an asset. Knowledge of local working language of the duty station, an asset
-Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields.
-Ability to make timely and quality judgments and various office applications
-Demonstrated ability to work in an a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization
-Commitment to continuous learning for professional development
-Initiative, passion and commitment to UNICEF’s mission and professional values
