CEMENT COMPANY OF NORTHERN NIGERIA PLC (RC3111)
Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc (CCNN) is a public company engaged in the manufacture and sale of Portland cement. Its factory is located at Kalambaina Road, on the outskirts of Sokoto town. An opening exists for an experienced and qualified candidate to fill-in a position in our Legal Department.
POSITION: ASSISTANT MANAGER, LEGAL
QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- First degree in Law (LLB, B.L)
- Minimum of Six (6) years post call experience preferably in the areas of corporate practice duties
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the MD/CE
- Offer legal advice and liaise with the external solicitors;
- Drafting and vetting of legal documents;
- Ensuring that corporate disclosures are completed and dissemination of regulatory news to the stock market;
- Work with company secretary and others departmental directors to ensure that regulatory reporting is correct and does not lead to errors resulting in offences under various acts;
- Ensure compliance with statutory filling requirements;
 - Arrange and manage the process of calling and holding annual general or special meetings;
- Documentation of formal decisions made by shareholders, BOD and management
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Good knowledge of the legal framework (corporate and commercial law)
- Adequate relationship management and networking skills
- Ability to exhibit confidentiality in information handling
- Proven integrity and sound ethics.
- Sufficient attention to details
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent business writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Micrsoft Office Suites
- Fluent in Hausa Language

1-3 years of experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide domain expertise in planning, organising, directing and controlling the account operations of the organisation

Finalization of periodic financial statements and cost overhead allocation.

Short, Minimum Long term planning and budgeting for the business and monitor performance against plan.
Prepare capex requirements for analysis and presentation in standard format; ROI, payback, cash flow etc. analyses, monitor progress, adjust cash flow projections according; after implementation, monitor compliance and monthly and quarterly variance analysis against approved assumptions.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT
First class BSc holder in Accounting
Must have ICWA/CA
10 to 12 years cognate experience in relevant field.
Must have overall knowledge of tally, comfortable with MS office and MS Project and working knowledge of EPR
