leadership and mentoring Foundation based in Calabar, Cross River State
requires the services of a motivated, experienced and result-driven
professional for the position highlighted below:
JOB TITLE: THE RESEARCH & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT (RDC)
The Research & Business Development Consultant (RDC) will be responsible for all research and business development needs of the organisation as well as prepare Briefs, Proposals and Documents.
He/she will also manage research requirements/needs for client projects and ensure smooth liaison between the Lead Consultant/CEO & External Consultants (where applicable).
In addition, he/she will be responsible for developing new businesses and projects including special projects within TPC scope of work. This includes incubation of new ideas and business, initiating meetings, relationships and long term strategic plans for the company.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Research & Business Development Consultant shall work under the direct supervision of the Lead Consultant/CEO to carry out all functions specified in this ToR. He/she shall work closely with the other members of staff.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESEARCH:
Generate all research content for the scope of work or projects by the organisation
Initiate new research topics and projects to develop data for the CSR industry in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
Identify key niche areas of focus in content and development in line with the broader vision of the company
Interface with consultants and clients to ensure implementation of research requests and provide adequate information accordingly to clients, consultants and other members of staff, working with the Senior Consultant, Strategy and External Relations (SC-SER)
Prepare ALL briefs proposals, strategy papers and documents where research content is required.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
Generate new income/revenue streams for the company.
Initiate new ideas for the execution of all TPC projects and businesses/income streams in line with the vision of the company.
Identify business opportunities in line with the broader vision of the company.
Interface with clients and ensure implementation of decisions and communication of same details to clients, working with the Strategy & External Relations Consultant (SERC).
Liaise with relevant authorities and/or agencies for obtaining the required clearances for essential services in connection with projects.
Source and liaise for sponsors, partners and suppliers for all TPC events and programs.
Carry out such other assignments as required by the company.
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS:
A post-graduate degree in Statistics, Social Research or Social Sciences or an associated area and preferably with a background in a research or marketing role.
Preference will be given to those having a Master’s Degree in ANY field.
At least three (3) years’ professional work experience in leading research projects and content development.
Should have at least executed/managed one international research project from the inception through execution and completion.
Past experience in research and/or business development would be an advantage.
Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of leadership and coordinating teams.
Should have good:
Knowledge and experience in event, conference and training planning
Computer appreciation skills
Numeracy and accuracy skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Strong ability to organize and prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and targets
Additionally, the following attributes are essential:
