Intending applicants for the NDDC/Maritime Academy Of Nigeria Training, must fulfill certain requirements which are listed below for the available courses. It should also be noted that your registration for this programme does not automatically secure admission into these programmes. All qualified candidates would have been screened before being admitted. The available courses and their requirements are listed below.

1.) Pre-seamanship
- Age limit – not less than 17 yrs of age.
- Educational Qualification – not below WAEC
- Must be Medically fit
- Must Pass an eye sight test
2.) Able-seamanship
- Age limit – not less than 18 yrs of age.
- Seatime – minimum of 12 months sea time
- Educational Qualification-not below WAEC
- Must be Medically fit
- Must Pass an eye sight test
3.) Quarter Master
- Age limit – not less than 18 yrs of age.
- Educational Qualification-not below WAEC
- Seatime-not required
- Must be Medically fit
- Must Pass an eye sight test
4.) Marine Engineer Assistant (MEA)
- Age limit – not less than 18yrs of age.
- Educational Qualification—not below WAEC
- Seatime-not required
- Must be Medically fit
- Must Pass an eye sight test
- Duration – 4 months
5.) Outboard Engine And Maintenance Course
- Age limit – not less than 18 yrs of age.
- Educational Qualification-not below WAEC
- Seatime-not required
- Must be Medically fit
- Must Pass an eye sight test
- Duration – 4 months
6.) Power Driven Small Craft
- Age limit – not less than 18 yrs of age.
- Educational Qualification—not below WAEC
- Must be Medically fit
- Must Pass an eye sight test
- Duration – 4 months
7.) Mandatory Safety Course
- Ability to read and write
