Principal Accountabilities:

Analyze survey data as well as information collected from individual organizations, highlighting trends and issues for consideration.

Prepare remuneration intelligence reports and draft recommendations for consideration by the BCC.

Present recommendations on remuneration and benefits issues to the BCC for review and approval.

Maintain balance sheet information for incoming and outgoing expatriates.

Maintain on-assignment remuneration for assignees out according to annual increases, bi-annual COL updates and policy changes, as well as on-assignment terms and conditions for incoming expatriates in conformity with established practices.

Ensure that IA packages and payroll instructions are properly implemented and executed in line with policy.

Oversee the effective delivery of remuneration and reward across the company, especially salary increase management and incentive schemes.

Manage the full Job Evaluation process through the use of the JE Manager technology and ensure internal equity and consistency across functions.

Lead and execute area and regional reward projects as assigned by the Area Reward Manager and Regional Reward Forum

Implement and sustain non-monetary recognition arrangements which will create and embed a culture of spontaneous recognition.

Implement and maintain a reward communication strategy that enhances transparency and keeps employees informed.

Develop and enhance reward training modules for line and HR managers to increase their reward management competence.

Respond to all queries around expatriate remuneration and benefits.

Develop, maintain and implement a reward induction module for new hires.

Establish and maintain effective and productive relationships, especially with external colleagues in the HR discipline and FMCG sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

5 years minimum experience in Human Resources in a multinational organization with knowledge of HRM practices & principles

2 - 3 years of specialized experience in Reward function in an FMCG environment is preferable.
Ability to design and manage pay & benefits systems

Conceptual understanding of market survey techniques; ability to conduct and interpret compensation surveys;

Ability to work with numerical & graphical data; understanding of statistics.

Excellent working knowledge of JE Manager and HAY evaluation method and understanding of other alternative approaches to job evaluation.

Good understanding of the BAT business and of tobacco industry in general;

Good knowledge of the Nigeria Labor market, particularly FMCG sector;

Strong analytical and computer skills(esp Excel)

JOB FUNCTION
This engineering position provides an opportunity to work closely with leading wireless operators, device and network vendors and R&D Teams across the globe on cutting-edge wireless technologies such as UMTS/HSPA/LTE (and LTE-A in future). Responsibilities would include various aspects associated with the design, optimization, capacity estimation and management, debugging of air-interface and core-network issues of UMTS/HSPA/LTE networks. Additional areas of responsibility include wireless system parameter recommendations, participating in new technology inter-operability tests and field trials in conjunction with R&D teams, lab performance studies, authoring white-papers and documents on new wireless technologies and standards. The candidate should have an academic background in digital communications, wireless and computer communication networks. The successful candidate should have the ability to understand detailed technical design; implementation and issues related to UMTS/HSPA/LTE technologies and have RF & Network optimization Industry experience. The candidate should be able to provide onsite support to mobile operators in Africa to help roll out and enhance their UMTS/HSPA/LTE networks. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
-Indepth knowledge in cellular technologies such as UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/LTE
-Experience in design, development, testing, and evaluation of cellular (UMTS/HSPA/LTE) systems.
-Background in 3GPP protocol standards, design, development, integration and verification, call processing of cellular (UMTS/HSPA/LTE) networks.
-Proven track record with innovative problem solving and hands-on experience with UMTS/HSPA/LTE network design, network troubleshooting, fine-tuning, and optimization in wireless operator working environment is required
-Experience with data services including knowledge of protocols such as TCP/UDP/IP is required.
-Academic course and projects/research work in some of the following areas: Digital Communications, Mobile Communications, Communication Theory/Systems, Error Correcting Codes, Computer networks (TCP/IP), Probability theory & Random processes, and Wireless Networks
-Experience with GSM/GPRS/EDGE is preferred
-Exposure to network planning, measurement and optimization tools such as Atoll, Asset3G, QXDM, TEMS, Ethereal, Actix, Agilent, R&S, PCtel is preferred
-Knowledge of interworking between Intra/Inter 3GPP and 3GPP2 networks is preferred
-Programming/scripting skills in C/C++/Perl/Python/Matlab/Octave and proven programming project experience using these is a strong plus

-Interact with wireless Operators to investigate and characterize the performance of UMTS/HSPA/LTE networks in various aspects ranging from core network, air interface, to devices and applications

-Use in-house simulation platforms written in C/C++/Matlab with live network traffic data and develop solutions to improve network performance & efficiency
-RF and OTA Parametric Optimization and troubleshooting involving the use of various complex data collection and post-processing tools to assess network performance (UMTS/HSPA/LTE) and propose solutions to problems
-RF Network Planning, including propagation model calibration, link budget definition, network planning tool configuration, coverage and capacity planning and network growth dimensioning
-Support operator for development and evaluation of infrastructure vendor RFPs for UMTS/HSPA/LTE networks.
-Support development of forward looking solutions to address network operator growth and expansion plans covering all network entities
-Support efforts related to wireless network voice/data capacity estimation and techniques to mitigate/manage cellular network congestion
-Develop tools for extracting data from large data sets for wireless system performance analysis and parameter comparisons
-Develop white-papers, conference contributions, technical memos, new technology training documents and detailed technical presentations.
