1.) IT Technician

Locations: Abuja/ Abia

Job Description

  • installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
  • monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
  • Talking with staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
  • replacing parts as required;
  • providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
  • supporting the roll-out of new applications;
  • setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
  • responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
  • working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
  • prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time;
  • rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers;
  • testing and evaluating new technology;

Qualifications
  • BA in IT Management
  • BTEC (Edexcel) National Certificate and Diploma IT Practitioners
  • City & Guilds (E-Quals) IT Practitioners Certificate and Advanced Diploma
  • OCR (IPRO) Certificate for IT Practitioners
  • At least 2 years working experience in this field.

2.) Machinery Technician

Job Description
  • A machine technician's main responsibility involves designing and setting up machinery
  • Able to operate machinery and diagnose any malfunctions of the machinery.
  • Identifies and suggests various machinery that can be used to carry out relevant operations.
  • Carries out various support functions such as preventive maintenance and calibration of machinery.
  • Ensures safety guidelines have been made and implemented.
  • Computes data and other relevant information necessary to the working of the machine.

Qualifications
  • BA Degree/diploma
  • 3-5 years working experience in related field
  • A machine technician should have good design skills. This includes the use of design instruments, blueprints, technical plans and drawings.
  • have mechanical knowledge and know how to use various mechanical tools and equipment
  • Good communication skills. This is in order to understand instructions given and to be able to express himself and give useful feedback.
  • Good visual ability to see objects which are near and far is crucial. It is important that a machine technician have good control movement and manipulative skills.
  • Good reasoning and idea-generation abilities. This is in order to effectively follow and implement given guidelines and rules.

Job Dimensions

Within the Research Division, the Petroleum Studies Department is responsible for providing pertinent and reliable information and analyses in support of decision-making and policy-making in Member Countries. It carries out research programs and studies on short-term petroleum market developments with the aim of issuing reports on a regular, as well as ad-hoc basis, highlighting important issues for their use and consideration. It conducts regular forecasts, elaborates and analyzes oil market scenarios and prepares and publishes reports on these findings. It promotes OPEC’s views and technical analysis on short-term oil market developments to the industry at large and the general public via the OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report, as well as other reports, presentations and related pod casts. And it prepares and contributes to reports to be submitted to the Economic Commission Board, the Board of Governors, the Ministerial Monitoring Sub-Committee, as well as papers for various OPEC publications.
Objective of Position:
  • The Economic Analyst analyzes key indicators and forecasts global economic development in the short- to medium-term with emphasis on developing countries and countries in transition.
  • He/she consolidates findings for inclusion in the Monthly Oil Market Report as well as reports for OPEC Governing Bodies and prepares occasional and topical reports and studies as requested.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyses leading indicators of world economic development including trade, commodity prices and investments and on this basis monitors and forecasts short- to medium term developments with particular focus on developing countries and countries in transition.
  • Prepares and comments on an economic outlook for developing countries, including OPEC Member Countries, for the Monthly Oil Market Report and other reports. Prepares and presents associated materials to meetings of the Economic Commission Board.
  • Contributes to economic studies in support of the Department’s analyses of oil demand in developing countries; monitors and assesses the impact of oil price, subsidies and taxation policies on the demand for oil.
  • Builds up and pursues collaborative networks with Member Countries’ and other countries’ academic and business institutions to enhance pertinent data gathering and analysis.
  • Participates in relevant task forces, external meetings and conferences in particular on subjects relating to analysis on and cooperation with oil consuming developing countries.

Required 
Qualifications/Competencies:
  • University degree (advanced degree preferred) in Economics
  • A minimum of eight years (six years in case of an advanced degree)
  • Training/specialization in Macroeconomics, international trade and/or development economics; knowledge of applied econometrics and quantitative methods an asset; knowledge of the oil industry an asset
  • Analytical/presentation skills
  • Competencies: Communication skills, interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, initiative and integrity
  • Language: English
Status and Benefits:
Members of the Secretariat are international employees whose responsibilities are not national but exclusively international.

Job Title: Contract Administrator (REF: CTRAD) 
Location: Port Harcourt Base/Sites 
Reporting to: Contracts Manager 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage and coordinate at the Project level the contract administration activities, ensuring that all aspects of the contract during the execution phase of the Project are addressed with the objective of contributing to maximise Project revenues; 
  • Analyze the contract terms and identify areas of possible risks and opportunities related to the application of the contract clauses; 
  • Management, drafting and negotiation of change orders/ variations and preparation of any claims against or from the Client, partners and any subcontractors or vendors; 
  • Ensuring that any contractual or legal matter affecting the Project execution is properly addressed; 
  • Monitoring key contract dates to ensure all contract terms are applied timely and correctly; 
  • Supporting the finance department function by assuring that all the relevant documents required for payment meet the contractual obligations;

  • Preparation of project design criteria for electrical systems 
  • Review of client's technical documentation and requirements, electrical system basic design, electrical system design review and definition of electrical engineering requirements. 
  • Prepare material MTO for cost estimate, bill of quantities (BOO) for erection works estimate 
  • Prepare technical documentation (specification, data sheet and inspection data sheets) for electrical equipment and materials 
  • Perform electrical system models & calculations and define ratings of equipment/systems (power demand, load flow, short circuits, transient stability, motor starting, harmonics, grounding)

  • Involvement in functional checks and tests for electrical system energisation and commissioning

Qualification and Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5 years of cognate experience in Electrical Engineering Design

  • Understanding of Engineering standard code and Regualtions

Job Title: Electrical Designer (EDR)
Location: Portharcourt/Remote Sites
Reporting to: Electrical Specialist Leader/Electrical Discipline Lead

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare material take off and bill of quantities for cost and erection works estimated during bidding stage.
  • Review of client's technical documentation and requirements during bidding stage  and Project execution
  • Coordinates and controls electrical engineering subcontracted activities & documents. 
  • Prepares technical documentation (specification, data sheets and inspection data sheets) for electrical bulk materials 
  • Prepares the Material Requisition (PR), the technical bid evaluations and provides technical support to procurement department in purchasing activities 
  • Performs the follow up of electrical bulk materials and check/review of Vendors technical documentation 
  • Involvement in preparation of electrical load list, power cables sizing, electrical load balance electrical network (grounding, lighting, cathode protection, electric tracing, connection boxes) materials selection and typical installation details 
  • Develops electrical network layout documentation (grounding, lighting, cathodic protection, electric tracing, connection boxes). 
  • Implements detail engineering activities (positioning, layouts, cable routings, cable raceways, cable schedules, supports ... ). 
  • Prepare material materials take off (MTO) and bill of quantities (BOO) for electrical system installation

Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer (IER) 
Location: Port Harcourt/Remote Sites 
Reporting to: Instrumentation Discipline Lead 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Perform instrumentation P&ID Mechanization 
  • Prepare Instrument data sheet and instrument material take off 
  • Prepare specifications for instruments and for instrumentation installation 
  • Check key engineering documents according to internal procedure 
  • Participate in 3D Modeling activities and F.A.T activities 
  • Coordinate subcontracted discipline engineering activities and controls subcontracted discipline engineering documents 
  • Prepare technical documentation for instrumentation requisitions 
  • Provide input to discipline Lead Engineer on harmonizing designs and project management methodologies 
  • Participate in the modification of company work flow and technical standardization
  • Modify engineering drawings in coordination with instrument lead and superintendents

Qualification and Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in Instrumentation Design 
  • University degree in Electrical! Electronics Engineering or Systems Engineering 
  • Understanding of Engineering standard code & Regulations

Job Title: Civil & Structural Engineer (CSER) 
Location: Port Harcourt/Remote Sites 
Reporting to: Civil Discipline Lead 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Prepare design specifications for concrete foundation and steel design 
Set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies relevant to any engineering issues associated with the discipline 
Prepare SOW and technical documentation for soil investigation contract 
Develop studies and calculation notes for reinforced concrete, piling works, steel structures(including connection details) and structural concrete/steel buildings 
Validation and issuance of project geotechnical specifications 
Manages Issue of technical bid tabulation for all geotechnical offer 

Qualification and Experience: 
Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in Engineering Design 
University degree in Civil/Structural Engineering 
Understanding of Engineering standard code & Regulations 
Knowledge in design software as STADPRO/TEKLA SAP 
Good computer skills: proficient in MS office suite 

Job Title: Piping & Layout Engineer (PLER) 
Location: Port Harcourt/Remote Sites 
Reporting to: Piping Leadl Project Engineering Manager 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Documentation of piping and layout methodologies / specific design guidelines 
  • Analysis of technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings etc) in order to assess the scope of studies required and potential risks) 
  • Provides piping & layout engineering support to different projects 
  • Checking of all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design report, technical specifications, drawing etc 
  • Estimate quantities or validates estimation done by other specialist of the team 
  • Provide technical Support to procurement , subcontracting and construction activities included in the scope of work
Qualification and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in Engineering Design
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Understanding of Engineering standard code and Regulations
  • Good computer skills: proficient in MS office suite
