Job Title: General Services Assistant - Technical (Temporary)

Main Duties / Responsibilities

The position holder will provide technical support and necessary back-up for the smooth running of the General Service Division.

Detailed Duties / Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting monthly market surveys of goods and services to ensure cost effectiveness and prudence.
  • Assist in monitoring suppliers/contractors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist in estimation and costing of all builders works/services
  • Weekly visits to management and approved residences to inspect and ascertain the level of work in progress and report same directly to the AOGS for appropriate follow-up.
  • Assist in filling/record keepingin the division.
  • Relief the Maintenance Engineer or the Administrative Assistant - General Services while on leave
  • Carry out any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Competencies
  • Knowledge and understanding of property management and the relationship between owner and occupier.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to manage supliers using a logical process to ensure that the cost and quality of the service recieved meets organizational requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the various forms of contract used in the construction in your area of business.
  • Computer literacy is required (proficiency in MS Office and any other technical software).
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold:
  • Degree in Building or Civil Engineering with a minimum of Second Class Upper.
  • HND in Building or Civil Engineering with a minimum of Upper Credit.
  • 1 year post qualification relevant work experience.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies would bre an added avantage.
  • Additional professional qualifications in management would be an added advantage.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is desirable.
Additional RequirementsApplicants must be:
  • National of member of Africa Re
  • Not be more than 30 years old
Duration
The contract is renewable and shall initially be for a period of Nine (9) months

Remuneration
Salary and other conditions of service are competitive and comparative to what is obtainable in similar organizations (monthly salary NGN110, 482.00)
