Broron Oil & Gas Limited (BOGL) is one of a group of companies, known as Broron Group based in Lagos, Nigeria. We provide a full range of subsea services that include diving, ROV services, hookups, subsea installations and piping services. Supply of deepwater production systems and supply of deepwater semisubmersible drilling units.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The project manager shall have amongst others, the following primary responsibilities:
Create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Identify resource needs and assign individual responsibilities.
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.
Review deliverables prepared by the project team before passing for execution.
Effectively apply professional experience and the company’s methodology to enforce project standards.
Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
Minimize the company’s exposure and risk on project.
Ensures project documentation are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
Manage project budget and ensure compliance or cost-savings, without hindrance to the project operations, scope and deliverables.
Communicate appropriate revenue recognition to the finance team and follow up and resolve any disputes that may arise thereon
Identify and communicate to management, any business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
Facilitate team and client meetings effectively.
Hold regular status meetings with project team.
Keep project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
Report to management daily on the performance of the project and all attendant activities
Prepare and present on a weekly basis, a status report reflecting the performance of the ship against defined Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] and other agreed performance measures and analyzing it for continuous improvement.
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
Partner with the Master and the Compliance Coordinator to execute IMO, class & flag and ISM responsibilities and compliance on the vessel.
Enthusiastically pursue safety culture and practice onboard the ships
Execute all duties prior to, during and after vessel’s port call, up to and including terminal notification, berthing instructions, cargo operations, departure arrangements, and appropriate documentation.
Ensure proper and timely planning for the preparation and execution of major works managed by other key department – such as dry docking, ensuring timely definition of scope of work, schedule and budget, ensuring that these are communicated effectively for inclusion in the ship schedule.
Monitor and report on catering performance, and together with the Master and crew coordinator, ensure that catering supplies are managed with minimal impact to operations schedules and at minimal cost.
Prepare and propose a budget for the maintenance and repair of the asset and related consumables as well as for any required onshore support.
Proactively assist in the identification of Capital Expenditure aimed at improving productivity or required for the alignment of the capacity of the asset with the needs of the projects / tendering.
Interface closely with Project Team members to ensure adequate integration and efficient team performance onboard the vessel
Ensure proper hand over of positions and duties on shift rotations on board the vessel, including familiarization and training of marine personnel, technicians and operators.
Liaise with support departments, both onshore and offshore, to ensure that requirements/support for the project are provided promptly and adequately
With the support of Human Resources, permanently maintain an adequate and cost effective marine crew and team of technicians and operators required for the maintenance and operation of the vessel and its permanent equipment with due consideration of the asset activity.
Engage actively with the Human Resource Department regarding the career development of the crew associated with the ships.
In circumstances where the ship is undergoing interim maintenance programs, unplanned dry docks or projects not being managed by Projects, to plan, manage, control and execute ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements, budget, schedule and all company policies and standards.
Report promptly to the Group Head, any circumstances on the project or affecting the project, requiring attention or management consideration and action.
Report promptly to the Group Head, any changes to the project dynamics that may result in changes in the dynamics of the project [cost, time schedule, scope, quality, risk elements, etc]
Handle all client complaints and ensure prompt and effective resolution of issues raised
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
M.sc Degree in engineering or related discipline.
Must be certified a professional engineer.
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience relative to marine maintenance, subsea operations and managerial roles.
Must have a working knowledge of State, Federal and International policies and maritime regulations
Must be undoubtedly experienced in QHSE policies and procedures.
Must be a certified project manager.
Must have a background in quantity Survey.
COMPETENCES AND QUALITIES
In-depth understanding of the Oil and Gas Servicing industry, including players, key trends and growth drivers.
In-depth knowledge of vessel engineering, design and make-up
In-depth knowledge of vessel operations
Very good knowledge and understanding of relevant local regulations guiding offshore operations in Nigeria.
Understanding and awareness of critical success factors for operations within the Oil and Gas servicing industry.
Understanding of leading practices in pipeline engineering, marine & sub-sea construction and maintenance oil and gas logistics support.
